Demolding is a key process in the process of FRP products. The quality of the demoulding directly affects the quality of the FRP products and the effective use of the mold. Of course, the quality of the demoulding depends not only on the rationality of the design of the mold; the surface finish of the mold; the effect of the release agent and the coating; it also depends on the level of demolding technology.
Hand lay-up FRP products generally use the following three release methods.
(1) gas removal
Gas stripping is to install the gas nozzle on the mold in advance. The gas nozzle is connected to the air pump through the rubber hose. When the mold is released, the air is injected into the gap between the mold and the product through the air nozzle. The product can be inserted as the compressed air continuously enters. Top out. When pressing, use a rubber hammer to gently tap the air hole to allow the gas to enter quickly. This demolding method is very effective for large area products.
(2) ejection mold release
The ejection of the ejection is performed by pre-pasting the ejection member on the mold, and rotating the screw when the mold is released, and the ejection block is moved outward to eject the product. This demolding method is more effective for thick-walled products.
(3) water off
That is, the injection of 0.4~0.6 MPa of water into the nozzle can take off the product because the water can dissolve the release agent, such as a polyvinyl alcohol release agent. The product with simple structure does not need to be installed with the release piece. After the product is solidified, it can be removed by gently squeezing it with a flat shovel. The stripper can be installed at the same time, but it should be installed at a position that facilitates demolding, rather than affecting the appearance of the product.
Special reminder for Yaya FRP: Never use a hard hammer to knock the mold hard when demoulding, so it is easy to shatter the FRP products and the gel coat of the mold.
